(Jacob^6, John^5, Jacob^4, Garret^3, Gerrit^2, Jentie^1 Jeppes) was b. 17 March 1848, Syosset, LI, NY and died 19 July 1905 in San Francisco, CA. He married Laura Theodosia Combs, 19 April 1869, Brooklyn, NY.

Children: Lewis^8 W. Van Wicklen, b. 6 July 1880, Brooklyn, NY and d. 21 August 1964, Walnut Creek, CA. He married Matilda (Tillie) Nystrom (b. abt 1880, CT and died 15 March 1963, Alameda, CA), and was residing in Oakland, Alameda, CA at time of both the 1920 and 1930 US Census. Matilda's mother's maiden name was Hansen.

> Lewis Jr. prob. the one noted in recs of 18th St. ME Church, Brooklyn, 1891. His wife, b. 29 December 1879 Plainville, CT, d. 15 March 1963 Oakland, CA, both bur. Cypress Lawn, Colma, CA, no issue but adopted - Combs elder brother of VCB. Butilda was sister of VCB's mother. Laura was sister of VCB's gf? (Harry Macy has a picture of him from Mrs. Barrett)

1870 US Census for N. Hempstead, Queens, NY lists Jessie P. Kellsey, 40, Retired Merchant of Country Store, b. NY, with wife, Catherine, 34, b. NY, keeping house, with son, Edward, 13, at school, b. NY, and son, William, 4, b. NY. In this household is Lewis Van Wicklen, 22, b. NY, clerk in store.

East Norwich, L.I., July 23 - Mrs. Martha Van Wicklen, widow of Jacob Van Wicklen, formerly of Syosset, died at the home of her son-in-law, Charles C. Boylis, in this village, yesterday, at the advanced age of 84 years. She leaves surviving her beside Mrs. Boylis, a son, Louis Van Wicklen of Brooklyn, who is now on a trip to California. Funeral services over the remains of Mrs. Van Wicklen will take place Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence of Mrs. Boylis in this village. The Rev. Robert Wasson, pastor of the Wesley M. E. Church, will officiate.
